Makers
Behind every instrument in the National Musical Instrument Fund’s collection is a maker. Among the string instruments and bows alone, there are more than 250 makers—both past and present. The fund’s resident biographer, Jan Boekhout, has written a biography for many of them—truly a multi-year project.
