Valentina Real Goñi

Valentina Real Goñi started playing the violin when she was three years old. It was not until she was 19 that she started playing the viola and fell immediately in love. After studying three years in Prins Claus Conservatorium, in Groningen, she decided to continue her viola studies in Conservatorium van Amsterdam where she is studying now with Lilli Maijala and Francien Schatborn.
Enjoying music the most when playing with people, she has formed part of many orchestras ranging form classical music (such as EOIB) to more modern music (Jong Metropole) and has a focus on trying to use her instrument as a voice to make a social impact, taking part in projects with ensembles such as the Mystifiers Collective, as well as forming the band Still I Rise Collective with 5 other musicians.
Thank you to the viola provided by the NMF, Valentina can continue her studies and exploring her career with a beautiful instrument that has a deep, full and rich sound.
