Clàudia Pérez Rivas

cello

I started playing the cello at the age of seven at the Municipal Conservatory of Terrassa with Professor Lluís Heras. I later continued my musical training at the Institut for Arts Oriol Martorell in Barcelona with Professor Josep Pazos, and completed my Bachelor’s degree with Fernando Arias at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón.

I was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Catalonia (JONC) for five years and have had the opportunity to collaborate with several ensembles, including the Barcelona Contemporary Ensemble and the Strings Academy Euregio at the Mozarteum. Chamber music has always been central to my artistic path — I’ve received coaching from members of Cuarteto Quiroga and Cuarteto Cosmos, and I currently study with Professor Paul Komen.

Over the years, I’ve also taken part in masterclasses with inspiring cellists such as Gary Hoffman, Pieter Wispelwey, Louise Hopkins, and Valentin Radutiu, among others.

The support of the NMF has been far more than practical — it has been a turning point. It has brought me closer to the kind of musician I aspire to become, and for that, I am deeply grateful.
