Alberto Sánchez García

basklarinet

I was born in Madrid in 1998, and at 7 I started playing the clarinet, under the guidance of Carlos Pérez and Gemma González. In 2020 I completed my bachelor studies with Justo Sanz at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid; in 2022 I received my master degree from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, studying with Arno Piters, Davide Lattuada and Harmen de Boer.

During my studies, I have also worked in masterclasses with Matthias Schorn, Calogero Palermo, Paul Meyer, Phillipe Berrod, Vicente Alberola, etc. About prizes and awards I outline: First Prize in the Third International Bass Clarinet Competition in Ávila (2018), First Prize in the Fifth Villa de Ourense International Clarinet competition (2019), and EUYO's Sir Ian Stoutzker Award (2023).

I have been a member of EUYO in 2019-2021 as well as 2023-2024. I have also been a member of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, the Dutch Nationaal Jeugdorkest (NJO), and the Spanish JONDE. I also collaborate with professional orchestras such as the Concertgebouworkest, Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest, Het Residentie Orkest, Phion Orkest van Gelderland & Overijssel, and ORCAM (Orquesta y Coro de la comunidad de Madrid). I am part in 2024 of an apprenticeship scheme in the Budapest Festival Orchestra.

In September 2023 I got a loan from NMF for a Buffet Crampon bass clarinet, which I very much enjoy playing.

Apart from music, I like to travel to new places, to hike, and movies.
